A brief insight into the area of Stress Management


WHAT IS STRESS MANAGEMENT?     

Stress is a natural experience that effects everyone.  However it can become a problem when an individual is faced with unexpected life events or when a combination of experiences occurs.

These occasions  can trigger physical and / or mental health problems. These can include heart and circulation problems, panic attacks, depression and anxiety.

Stress management sessions do not cure the source of the stress. However, techniques can be learned which help an individual be more able to cope with the stress. In the sessions a person can learn how to identify their particular stress factors and then be taught management techniques or coping strategies.

The aim of the stress management session(s) is to provide an individual with the knowledge and skill to identify and deal with any future stress episodes.
